Yes, Adame has many stops in Texas that go to Monterrey. Monterrey has a small bus station usually full but nobody bothers you. It is easier than bothering with greyhound. There is another comany called El Norteno that has some problems. Go to a Mexican store near where you live to find out more info.

It is a safe city for mexican standards, but not as safe for american standards

You should be fine there, I believe there have been some shootings, but those are targeted to drug dealers so you don't have to worry about it

Monterrey is strong in economy, industry, business, and tourism too.

Monterrey has 7 universities, (one public and 6 privates) ... all acredited by organizations of the USA and other countries.

In Monterrey you will find golf courses, many malls, many museums, spectacular mountains, falls, caves.

You will find friendly people and of course, very good food and drink.

Many people speak english.
