Now that his American counterpart has named his assistants, is Monty set to do the same in the next few weeks?

It seems not. After today's first round of the Desert Classic, Montgomerie said he won't be announcing his vice-captains until after July's Open Championship. He explained: "I want to give everybody an opportunity of qualifying for the team and we will know more about what the qualifying situation is around that time."
