  1. Yes, by far.  It has been analyzed and figures run on all a Mom does every week. If they were earning a salary commensurate with their duties and responsibilities, they would earn 100,000 a year.

  2. No, it's been elevated in recent years. Teaching is now consider the least valued job in American society, not everywhere.

  3. don't take this the wrong way, but that is a really dumb question.

Motherhood for one isn't a job.  And secondly motherhood is looked upon as something needed for our youth to grow up the correct way, so although there arent many stay at home moms, motherhood is one of the most important parts of life.

  4. Perhaps by men.  In general, I'd pick teacher.

  5. Maybe to some people in the society - remember how Hilary Clinton said she wasn't going to stay home and bake cookies??  Her family might have been better off if she had...

    Moms Rule!!

  6. Only if you let it get to you.  My wife certainly doesn't think so as she stays home with our two little boys on a teacher's income.

  7. Nobody knows how hard it is until they have to do it, so yes, probably.

  8. Only by the ignorant. What could be more valuable than raising well adjusted kids, by someone that is actually their parent.

  9. Not to me. To me it is the clay mold to our society. While what outside of what a mother teaches her child can influence it, nothing compares to what a mother can influence on her child.

  10. You are right, unfortunately. It is actually the most valuable job in the universe, yet our current culture doesn't support it or want to fund it in any realistic way. And our culture tends to demand that parents be absolutely perfect right now or else.

  11. I think you are talking about stay home moms. I do not consider it a job because for me it is lifestyle, and some people decide not to have kids. It is important because it should help raising well-adjusted happy citizens.

Some people would argue that we need kids to continue the human race. I'd argue that we have already enough people on the planet, not to mention many orphan kids. But this is another subject. : )
