Is Motorazr2 v9 working in japan?

i'm currently in singapore, is my hp motorola MOTORAZR2 v9 working if i bring it to Japan?

ANy recommendation of which telecomunication service provider should i look as this is my first time to Japan. thank you

Going to Japan and using a cell phone is tricky because Japan and parts of South Korea use a different system than rest of world. You would need a phone that operates at 3G 2100 MHz. Unfortunately the phone you have only goes up to 1900. There aren't many phones that can do this because usually Japanese companies make their own phones and they don't work outside of Japan, and vice versa. You would need something Japanese like the Sony Ericsson z750  which can work pretty much anywhere in the world.

Japan also has it's own phone companies specifically for Japan. If you are only going to Japan for vacation then talk to your service provider about letting you rent a phone or something that connects to your phone which will make it work in Japan. Or you can just rent one online or at the Japanese airport.
