Is Mphil compulsory for getting a job as a college lecturer?or just clearing NET is enough?

Having a Mphil or pursuing one will certainly be in your best interest, but it is "not" compulsory for getting a job as a college lecturer.  I have been lecturing in college since 1998 and do not have a Mphil.  I do have a MSM in my field, however.
