Is My Brothers Idea Better?

Well I want to be an actor, and so does he. lol. Though we both have different views as to what and how it should tackled. I plan to go to college, get a degree in performance arts, I plan to take voice, dance, and acting ect. Also at the same time get out there and audition for parts in plays ect. Then take it a step higher by moving out to Cali or NY get in some good plays, and or audition for movies. Well my brother, just wants to leave to Cali, no experience what so ever, and hit and miss it. Meaning try for auditions if he makes it or not w/e he'll go the next. I am 19, hes 17, he plans to leave when hes 18. Now that I think about it mine is a little more thought out, cuz if i cant be a full actor, I can still do plays, ect. Also, he says I am just wasting my time. So who do you think has a better idea on this issue?

I think yours is the better. If you go through with your plan, then you'll have more experience and training, and more people will have the urge to hire you.

i think yours will take more time but if you don't hit it big you'll have something to make a living with. plus while your trying to hit it big your going to need to make money and you can do that with a degree. if he doesn't make it big then he'll be stuck without a degree living from one small gig to the next.

I think you're idea is better because you want to actually learn something about acting, an he is too impatient to learn and take classes (no offense to him)

while some of them never finish high school, i bet they had previous experience...

that is what will back you up.

you can get connections if you go to school. there are people who will go to things like that and scout for people. i bet if someone came to see you when you get to be experienced, then i bet you could make it bigger than your brother

I think yours is better because the chances of him getting anywhere are really low, unless he's really exceptional.

I am an actress also. I think your idea is better because when i was breaking into the business, so was my friend. I had more experience than her, and i got more jobs than her.

Since then she's been in a few plays, but I've had leads in movies. More experience is better. Trust me.
