Question:

Is My Cat Okay At Home?

My family and I are leaving on Wednesday to go to Darrien Lake and coming back Friday. Our two dogs are going to my grandmas house, but our cat can't go because she has like 10 chiuauas (spelling?) and knowing my cat something bad would happen.

Shes an outdoor cat, so we were thinking of leaving the garage open a little bit so she could get under it, and leaving a bunch of food and water for her, as well as her bed.

She just turned a year old in July, and we've never left her alone before. Should I get my friend to check up on her on Thursday or do you think she will be fine for those 3 days?

Thanks in advanced!

  1. I have a cat of my own and I have left her alone for two days and no problems. Some cats do suffer from Separation Anxiety from their owners. If you leave home for a couple of hours or a day or so some cats tend to urinate on the floor and stuff like that just to let you know they are not happy about you leaving. But if your cat doesn't do that then you should be fine. But it would be a good idea to have someone check on it Thursday just to make sure it didn't eat all it's food or drink all it's water. Cats prefer fresh water sometimes mine will not drink water if it has been in it's bowl for more than a couple of hours.

  2. i think you should have your friend check on your cat thursday

  3. Since she stays outstide she will probably be fine.  It can't hurt to have your  friend stop by though.

  4. i would recommend to keep ur cat indoors so he would not get lost or stolen. and he or she will be fine because i left y cat alone in the house for a week and he was just fine.and leave 2 bowls of water and food.

  5. Keep kitty inside with two bowls of fresh water (or get a huge automatic refilling water bowl, cats love those!) and two bowls of food.  Someone might steal her, she could get killed or hurt if you let her outside.

Good luck and have fun on your vacation!!!

  6. If you are worried, check into a pet sitter. I get a pet sitter for $12 a visit in Phoenix, AZ. For me, it is worth the peace of mind.

  7. I wouldn't leave your garage open because someone might want to get in. Two days in the house wouldn't kill the cat! Leave some food and water in the house. If it would make you feel better, get a neighborhood friend to check on him Thursday. He'll be fine, but expect him to be nervous when you get back.

    Hoped I helped!

  8. Make sure to have enough food/ water and sand box for it.

I would make sure she stays inside during this time w/ no access to the outside.  Other cats could come inside and eat her food... and you don't want that!

(she won't like it but it will be safer You won't be home to know if something bad happens)

You can get your friend to come by and just talk to her and pet her and check her food and water.... and clean the sand box if you want.

Not necessary but would be nice for the cat.

  9. I'm sure she'd be okay, but, I recommend having a friend check up on her while you're gone, just to make sure that your cat is doing okay. ^_^

  10. The cat will be just fine just remember leave food a big bowl of water and a clean litter box for her!  I'm 37 and have left my cats much longer that 3 days!  All she'll do while you're gone is  play with things that only she can see and sleep!  so no worries she will be fine !
