  1. People like you make me sick. You shouldn't be allowed any pets with that attitude. You've pretty much condemned your poor dog to death well done! She clearly needs to see a vet asap and by you denying her it is cruel. I hope your proud of yourself. And i really hope you get found out for denying your dog a vet and get locked up! You deserve it!

  2. As she is only a baby herself, I think you are going to have to take her to the vet - she may not be mature enough to deliver puppies and that what she will do very soon.

  3. I don't know what kind of help you want or expect.

You start out by telling us you refuse to take her to the vet and order us to not tell you to take her to the vet.

The trouble is that, if she has any kind of problem or emergency, you won't be able to afford to take her to the vet then either.  You should have had her spayed.  You should have taken her to the vet already for the probable pregnancy.  If you can't afford to take her to the vet, then you have no right to risk allowing her to become pregnant.

You can google vet chat websites and ask a vet.  I'll list the home page of one I remember below.  You can ask a vet whatever you wish at these sites.  -!-

  4. I know what you mean about the vets but they will give the best advice, but i think you're ***** is pregnant, start feelings her bely if she is then the pups will kick about a week before entering the world!!

hope this helps and good luck!!

    katie

  5. GO TO THE VET its the only cure or give him/her away to somebody who can take care of her

  6. Stop being cruel and take the dog to the vet.

  7. Look i have been breeding for 20 yr and it does sound like she might be pregnant but the thing about your story on her is not normal..she should NOT have blood coming from her BUM or her v****a unless she is whelping her puppies..she can discharge a slimy substance with is considered the puppy matter (mucus plug)..If she is in fact pregnant and it has only been a few weeks and not the full 63 days of gestation then you need to take her to as she might be in major trouble..if she has been pregnant for the full 63 days then she might be getting ready to whelp them puppies..you can check her tempter(99%-101% is normal but if 97%-98% then she is in labor)

I am sorry but the blood thing you are explaining worries me as she could have anomber of thing going wrong with her or the pups...You need to take her to the vet,f not for them pups but to save her....

  8. go to the vet xD

  9. How long is a few weeks dogs are pregnant for 9 weeks. If you think she is you should feed her puppy food. It sounds like your dog may have something else going on with it, they don't leak blood while pregnant plus she sounds lethargic. b*****s are normal during there gestation period.

Unfortunately part of the responsibility of owning a pet is taking it to the vet. Dogs can get pregnant during there first heat at 6 months.

  10. Hi,

I have also found out my dog is pregnant and calculated that she should be giving birth in the next few weeks! I understand that vets are very expensive, but the internet is a great resource so you can pretty much look up step by step what is supposed to be happening to your dog.. and do as much as u can for her!

The only worry i have for you is that your dog is bleeding at this stage that seems a bit odd. if it continues i recommend you take her to the vet or phone in for some advice (vets often give advice over the phone for free) in the meantime here are some great websites i have found on dog pregnancy which have helped me out...

remember that dogs have great instincts also, so she'll know what to do.. she'll just need your help and support :)

    good luck :)

Edit: Its a bit unfair to rate me down just because i have given the OP alternate advice, if they are not going to go to the vet surely it's best they know as much as they can? That's better than telling them to get rid of their dog! how's that going to help?

  11. The dog pound ! take the dog to the pound they will test her .Look if you don't want to take her to the vet what other choice is there ? If you ask me your not being a responsible pet owner .

  12. just keep her happy and healthy, and give her a big sheet or tray to have the babies in!

just wait and see if the little bundles of joy pop out!

look up how long it takes for the mum dog to have her babies and count back from when she mated.. so you can predict when shes due!

nipple enlargement and bleeding is usually a sign of babies coming soon, but i dont think a couple of weeks is the usual time of pregnancy so, i know its gonna be expensive, but what if your dog has internal bleeding or something! shes also gone off her food and barking(maybe in pain)

    think about her welbeing

    good luck with the puppies:)

  13. Not a year old, going to have puppies and blood? Yes, your dog does needs to see the vet. Either that or risk losing her, the pups or both. Especially since you dog is literally pup herself and having pups the outcome is usually not good.

But since you don't wanna spend any money on a vet you may as well turn your dog over to someone who will take proper care for it.

Sorry if you don't like the truth.

  14. do u have a pdsa centre near you. they can help if you are on benefit. she sounds as if she in pain please get her some help.

  15. It doesn't cost a fortune, they can quote you an office visit price and do a palpation uncluded. I recently had to do this (our beagle escaped) and it was only $16. Turns out ours is pregnant, yours is younger and bleeding so she really does need to go to the vet.

ETA: Also, vets are animal lovers.. they are usually willing to work with you a little on the cost. You can just explain your financial situation to them. And call around to different ones to get the lowest price. Don't neglect your dog though, take her in!! It could be life or death.

  16. What do you want us to do?

If you refuse to go to the vets how on earth are you going to raise puppies correctly? You should take the mother to see if she is pregnant, bleeding from her bum is not normal. If she is pregnant the safest thing to do would be an ultrasound to check how many puppies shes having, she'd then need to go to the vets if she encountered problems during whelp (which will occur if the male dog was significantly bigger than her - an emergency C section may be necessary and they can cost thousands), the mother and puppies would need to go to the vets within 48 hours of being born. So either way you are going to have to go to the vets if you don't want to end up with a dead mother and possibly dead puppies (if she is pregnant).

She could be going through a phantom pregnancy and the bleeding may be an infection she got through mating. Spay abort is a lot cheaper and safer than letting a puppy go through whelp - she may also kill her puppies or accidentally suffocate them as she's not physically or mentally ready for a litter.

  17. can't afford the vet?? DON"T have a dog...simple as that.

people who get animals and  can't/won't pay for vet fees make me soooo mad! the dog obviously needs to be looked at!! and what are you going to do if the dog is pregnant and has complications and needs a Cesarean?? just  allow her to die because they 'cost a fortune'? maybe you should re home your dog to someone who will look after her properly.

  18. Are her nipples a bright pink colour?

If she starts to get sooky and finds her self one spot in the house where she always like to lay then she could be. If she is, she will start to nest and find a spot to have the pups.

If you can try weigh her every week and she if she is putting on weight.

I took my girl to the vet last week because she develop massive saggy b***s and her attitude changed. She started to want more kisses and cuddles. We even got milk out of her nipples. The vet cost heaps and all he said was just keep an eye on her, she will start to dig around to find a place to have them if she is.

  19. good grief! Take her to the vet! You shouldn't have a dog if you can't afford the vet fees. Poor dog.

Grrrr, posts like this make my blood boil!

  20. If you cant afford to take care of the poor thing then you shouldnt have a pet.  GO TO THE VET!

  21. Go to the vet please and put yourself and your dog out of misery. :(

  22. A pyometra would be unusual at this age, so yes she is probably expecting.  Did you count weeks since she was bred?  At nine weeks she will deliver.  You need to have an area ready where she can safely have the puppies other than in the dirt.  And you need to have some prenatal care and worming for her. She shouldn't just have to lay in the dirt and give birth where the puppies will be ill, cold, dirty and flea infested.

  23. for a start at 1 year old she shouldnt be having pups as she is still a puppy herself and any good OWNER would take their dog to the vet without a SECOND THOUGHT

  24. I'm sorry but what else are we supposed to tell you to do besides go to the vet?  You should definitely make a phone call, she should not be bleeding.  Just make sure her symptoms are normal.  If she needs checked out, maybe they can allow you to make payments.

  25. im sorry but if you took your dog to the vets he would not be able to tell if she is pregnant or not! when my dog had puppies i never took her to the vets i could judt tell and some of the signs you have mentioned are what she had. gone off food, nipples getting big. i never took my dog for a x-ray or anything. i got her and the puppies vet checked after. email me on emmy81@live.co.uk if i can help anymore. good luck just dont worry.  read through this:

When it comes to mating, dogs can be very discrete - and rather indiscriminate - so you may not know puppies are on the way. There are a number of signs you can look out for, but most are not apparent until your ***** is well into her pregnancy (which on average lasts between 61 and 65 days).

    Signs of pregnancy

Vaginal discharge will usually occur around 1 month after mating.

The teats will become more prominent due to an increase in the blood supply around the base of the nipples. This should appear between 25 to 30 days after mating.

Appetite is usually depressed during mid-pregnancy, but not in every case.

The abdomen will enlarge and the total body weight of your ***** may increase by 20%-55%. This may not be noticeable until 45-50 days into the pregnancy.

Behaviour may also change, such as displaying slight depression.

Closer to the delivery date, your ***** will probably start to express her nesting instincts, scratching at the floor or in her bed, and displaying signs of increasing restlessness.

On average, you should be able to tell whether or not your ***** is pregnant at around one month after mating.

    Veterinary procedures

If you do suspect that your dog is pregnant, you'll need to see your vet for confirmation.

The most commonly used method is ultrasound. This can be used after 28 days, but may not be able to predict accurately how many puppies there are. Ultrasound examinations are comfortable because they are non invasive and very reliable.

Feeling the abdomen from about 21 days can be accurate, but it may be difficult if the dog is nervous or slightly overweight. If pregnant, the vet will feel a thickening of the uterus and "bumps" within. It isn't fool-proof, however, especially if there is just one pup in the womb or if the pregnancy is not as advanced as first thought.

From approximately 21-25 days endocrinological tests detect relaxin, a hormone exclusively produced by pregnant dogs.

The puppy's heart beats can be detected after about 25 days using a stethoscope or ECG.  However it will be very difficult to determine how many puppies there are.

An x-ray will pick up the skeletons of the puppies from around 49 days. It should also be accurate in determining how many there are. At the same time, most vets prefer not to use this method, as there is a danger that the radiation might cause damage.

Your vet will discuss which test is best for your pet, as some of these procedures may not be suitable at certain stages of pregnancy.
