I had one female rabbit (Honey) and one male rabbit (Shane) living in the same cage as one another quite a while ago.
When Honey became pregnant with her first litter about ten to twelve weeks ago I separated her from Shane, in order to make sure that she and the litter was both safe etc.
The litter consisted of five baby rabbits and one by one they have slowly left the mother and been sold onto family and friends, so now Honey is alone.
Over the last two days I have noticed that Honey has started to pull out quite a lot of fur and has used this fur to make a nest in the corner of the cage which she is currently living in.
I expected to see a litter of baby rabbits by now, but she doesn’t seem to have given birth to anything, but late last night when I checked up on her, I noticed that she had buried a half eaten carrot underneath the fur.
I was just wondering what I should do next ? Do I remove the carrot ? What is Honey going through ?
