  1. Calm it down a bit - it will catch up with you or worry the life out of you later on in life - maybe when you have children.

I drank socially (heavily) from age 16 to 30 ish (until I decided to have kids).  I can still drink now, but I'm sensible about it because I have to be responsible.  I had gallbladder trouble which has similar symptoms to liver failure a year or so ago and I've never been so scared in my life.

The scary thing about cirrhosis is that there can be no symptoms and it doesn't show up on an ultrasound scan and sometimes doesn't even show up in liver function tests.  It can be a sudden and devastating illness.  I thought that's what I had and it scared me.  Thankfully I'll live a while longer yet and I can still enjoy the odd drink.

  2. Your doc will give you a liver function test its just a blood test that would show if there's much damage. Be warned tho there's a chance your doc may suggest alcohol counselling too. You don't sound too heavy a drinker compared to allot of people I know. Don't worry too much

  3. I am going to say this, since no one else has.  Alcoholism is a disease.  It not only messes with your vital organs, it kills brain cells.  The only way to stop this from happening any further is to seek counselling.  This is not something to be proud of.  But don't deny it either.  You have a problem.  The first step is admitting it to yourself, then someone else who can help you.  Seek help now.  When you're out drinking are you driving too.  You may find your bad liver and dead brain cells in jail for vehicular homicide.  IT'S JUST NOT WORTH IT!

  4. probably  on the way.  get a liver test.

  5. you sound like me (well i started when i was 16) umm student days were the best..my liver is probably F**ked but hey i had a good time..

in the mood for a beer now

  6. no

  7. yes ur liver is finished, u shud consider buying a coffin

  8. Wow I can't belive yew haven't died!!

Wat the **** were yew thinking at thirteen!?!?!?

    Yew need to stop.

    TODAY.

All your money is going down the drain and your probably going to die soon.

You need to go get rid of all your liquor and start over before yew run out of time.

If yew don't stop REALLLLYYY SOON

    you

    ARE

    going

    to

    DIE.

    period

Then yew need to go to counseling. It WILL help yew start over and once you counseler has helped yew get that way he/she will help yew stay that way! Yew also need to go see your doctor.

I really hope yew stop it would suck if a perfectly good person with potential went to waste because of mother ******* alcohol!

  9. Your liver is evil and must be punished....

  10. no. it takes a long time. when you turn yellow.  You will know.

  11. Well someone i know has just died she was 41, drink related.

Drink can kill you...thats the bottom line.

  12. Stop today and your liver will begin to undo the damage. However, if you carry on once the balance has been tipped you are heading for a painful death.

  13. Give over, your a novice 9 years drinking at most means your still an apprentice 30 years here and I have probably spilled more then you've drunk

  14. U Only Get One Liver, If You Pickle It, It Might Last Longer!!!

  15. you will start to know when certain body functions change.  if you begin to have liver failure associated with alcoholism, parts of your body start shutting down.  you will see the signs in your face- it will be swollen and puffy. your eyes will look sunken in.  your nose will be red and stay red. you will be bloated. this happens a couple years before complete liver failure.

  16. i don't think that your liver is toast yet, but that doesn't mean that you should be toasting to this. for a better understanding of your liver, you should go to your doctor and ask him or her to test you for scarring. but you should remember that your liver won't be able to fend off what your doing to it for too much longer. it isn't what type of alcohol that you drink that matters. you liver can't say "oh, hey! it's half a bottle of jack! i think it's quitting time. oh, if only he had chosen the cabernet!" your body responds only to the amount of alcohol that it is forced to metablolized. if you are asking this question, you are probably beginning to worry about what your lifestyle has been doing to your body, and that might mean that you are due for a change. you could go to a local chapter of the AA for a meeting (i am certainly not saying that you are an alcoholic but you could get a little inspiration to stay sober--it worked for one of my friends) or simply put down the drink and pick up a soda instead. talk about it with your friends and family and if you are into it, then they will more than likely give you their support.

  17. true no onw here can know what condition your liver is in but most likely its not in good condition at all you probably have a fatty liver which means theres deposits growing in your liver and kind of looks like a piece of steak before you trim all the marblization off it its pretty gross that and if youve been drinking that much im guessing other things arent functioning right in your body because your liver is where everything gets stored and most things filter though it and it helps to regulate your body but good luck and i reccomend a going to see a dr and maybe cutting down on the consumption of adult beverages

  18. It's not destroyed yet, but if you continue at that pace you could run into problems by the time you're 30.  I have a history of alcoholism in my family and have seen 3 members of my family die before 50 because of heavy drinking and they didn't start as early as you.  Try and tone it down a little bit, because you'll regret it later.

  19. Nobody here can answer that question with certainty. The only way to know is to go to a doctor.

  20. Just stop worrying so much and enjoy the drink!
