Is My Poetry Good Enuf for someone I love

Question

I love my boyfriend, who has loved me for a long time, ever before we dated, so I wrote this:

"Finest Work of Art"

Green eyes,

Fill me with surprise.

Deeper than my sighs,

And higher than the skies.

Brown head

Resting on your bed

Bleeding, almost dead

From all the tears you’ve shed

Gold heart,

Loved me from the start

I hope to never part

From this finest work of art

I loved it. You should definitely read the poem to him. But I think you should add more stuff like why you love him or the way he makes you laugh. It will make it more interesting.

i thought the 1st and last stanzas were very good the middle one wasnt really something i understand its like it doesnt fit in with the rest of the sweet poem but other than that it rocked

It's your work. The only opinion that should matter is your own.

It matters firstly if you like it. Does it express you fully? Than you should like it.

We had to know your boyfriend to know if he would like it. However, if he loves you, I'm sure he will appreciate the gesture. Also, that appreciation is probable to extend itself to the poem.

So... good chance he'll like it, yes.

Honestly, I do. I think it could make a good lyric for a song.

It is okay.  Just the fact you tried is impressive.  Noone ever wrote  even a crummy poem for me.

That is an extremely beautiful poem, you should really visit http://teenink.com/ sometime. Your bf will love it. If he doesn't then he obviously has no understanding of poetry. Go for it, write in your most beautiful writing, mist the paper with the perfume of yours he likes the most, and give it to him. or even better, slip it into his locker at school, or leave it somewhere where you know he'll come across it. No one should ever put a rating on a poem that comes from your heart... if they love you they will love anything you write for them.
