Last Wednesday, we did a lot of watering.
Thursday, we did some watering. In the evening the pressure completely died. At this time the pressure gauge read "0". I looked at the pressure switch, and the connectors WERE touching, but no water was being pumped. Every 5-10 seconds I heard an electrical sound from the electric box next to the water tank.
10 minutes later, the pump filled up the water tank to full pressure within 20-30 seconds. (I did not touch the pressure switch.)
Whenever we'd try watering something, the pump would fill up the tank a fine for a couple minutes, and then the pressure would just die.
We figured the well was just over worked. We left all water OFF for the night, and in the morning, we had no pressure almost instantly.
I've been told that 3.5 Gal/minute is the minimum recovery for a well in Montana.
For the last couple days, we've done our very best to use as little water as possible, but it keeps dying on us.
(and we're getting dirt in our water...)
