Im 14 yr old boy, and often real tired, people say that i get enough sleep so it seems the only thing it could be is diet. and also i just wanna check if im eating healthy, because i am 5,5 and 62 kgs. but i think is mainly because of large inherited build.do quite a bit of exercise.

typical diet for day:

breakfast:Berry cereal with berry yoghurt

Morning tea at school:apple, muesli bar

Lunch at school:2 sesame seed buns with shaved chicked and herbslaw

Afternoon tea:bread, couple of rice crackers maybe a carrot

dinner:something like:a stir fry, or a lasagne, or a spag bog, or beef or chicken or something, all served with plenty of veges.

supper(occasionl)carrot or apple.

Thoughts ideas???

Thanks

  1. Maybe try having a bit more protein with your breakfast. Add a handfull of almonds or seeds like sunflower or papita seeds. These will help keep your bloodsugar level until lunch to keep your energy up.

Also swap you bread for wholemeal or rye bread. These types of bread release energy slower and have more nutrients.

If you have a juicer at home a fresh juice in the morning of carrot apple beetroot and parsley could hope to pick up your energy. Make sure you are keeping you water intake up too. Water helps with lots of things in the body like detoxing etc so it is very important.

And lastly if your still feeling really tired try a good quality multivitamin and mineral tablet designed for teenagers. That ill have all the b vitamins you need for energy formation.

  2. Your diet sounds healthy for one day, but remember that variety and lifestyle play a huge role. It also looks like you eat a lot of carbohydrates. Cereals, breads, pastas...that stuff builds up pretty quick and it takes a lot of exercise to really burn it all up. I would continue having the cereal, because it really is a great way to start the day, but you might want to consider something different for lunch and dinner. The stir fry and veggies are good, though. And hey, maybe it is a genetic thing. Some people are build bigger than others, so don't get too obsessed over your diet.
