  1. I'd heard (from my Vietnamese girlfriend) that it described the US contribution:

    No Action, Talk Only

  2. another one of those is

    NASA

which was renamed shortly after the challenger exploded

    Need Another Seven Astronauts

  3. NATO is a defensive alliance.  Its has no purpose but to deter attack on its members and to come to mutual aid.  It has no other purpose than that.

  4. If you feel strongly about helping Georgia you can always fly there and donate your services.

Seriously. It would do them more good than a thousand words about NATO and the UN.

  5. You said it, as useless as the UN.  NATO is past its prime.  The world dynamics have changed.  The USA, Israel, Poland, Georgia, Romania, etc. should start their own alliance.  The UN is beyond useless now.  It's dangerous.

  6. they aren't anywhere near as impotent as the UN

  7. They were developed to stop communism.. now I dont know what use they are doing.. probably ruining the world..destroying lives

  8. haha nice acronym

  9. Nato makes sence, however that commie U.N. stinks

  10. hmmmm.... obviously you know nothing about either NATO or the UN.  Nato was created to stop communism from spreading.  In todays world, Nato is just for defending the countries that are members of nato.  And the U.N is pretty useless now.... because our dear president withdrew U.S. finances and involvement from the U.N.    Before Bush came to office, the U.N. was well respected and half-way competent.  Sadly the U.N now is just a giant incompetent beurocracy.  At any rate, both of these organizations have used diplomacy first before taking military action.  We cant just go around bombing a country every time a little petty battle starts.  The reason Russia didnt escalate the current battle against Georgia was because NATO would have reacted immediately.  Georgia is not part of Nato's jurisdiction so there was no justification for stepping in between georgia and russia.   And anyway, georgia started the fight.

  11. NATO is North Atlantic Treaty Organization and it is a treaty where the members agree to a mutual defense if one of them comes under attack.

  12. NATO is: ... (I don't write the first word for obvious reasons) American Terrorist Organization. No action? against whom? Against Albanian terrorists? Against Bosnian Muslim provocations? Against the massacre of 2000 Osetians by the crazy regime in Georgia? Why do I have the feeling that you are not reffairing to these things?

  13. Their motto is "we'll act unless it's Russia or China who are kicking off"

  14. Ironically, I was wondering the same thing. They wouldn't even grant membership to the lil ol' country of Georgia because they didn't want to upset the Russians.

  15. North Atlantic Treaty Organization or North American Telemark Organization. they both are same.  they are looking there benefits.  no one bother about innocents. NATO  is very clever Organization they do not want to brake up Russia.  because Russia is a big country.  and Georgian are also not sages.

  16. I assume you are reffering to the recent Russia-Georgia conflict...

Well the thing is that neither of these countries are part of NATO, so there was no need for it to get involved. They do have a lot of power, but at the moment NATO forces, especially from the USA and UK are rather busy elsewhere. Against a smaller enemy it would be effective, but against Russia, they would have no chance.

  17. NATO did quite well bombing 100,000 civilians out of hospitals, apartments, and schools in serbia under the command of Clark under Clinton.

If it  wasnt for NATO there, muslims would not have been able to sieze kosovos oil pipelines.

  18. NATO is a military organisation not a political one. It is the politicians that make the decisions as to where and when troops are to be deployed. It is NATO's job to do what the politicians want done militarily.

The UN may leave a lot to be desired as a force for peace and preventing war but still does a lot of good through its subsidiary organisations such as the WHO etc.,

  19. Why. what do you think they should be doing?
