First he said that one of the guys would receive "a tenth of a point deduction for that dismount" but doesn't bother to tell us why. Doesn't everyone on the pommel horse have to do a dismount? Then he spoke of Sacramone doing 'balks' in warm-ups for the vault. Is the average viewer suppose to know what the heck a vault balk is? He never bothered to explain. I had to spend 10 minutes doing googles to find a definition cause most gymnastics glossarys don't even define it. NBC coveraged is NOT user (viewer) friendly. And these are just TWO examples. I guess he thinks we're all former Olympic gymnastic competitors like he was. His bosses at NBC don't even call him on it. I guess they're asleep at the wheel. Even an NFL football analyst will explain to the uninitiated housewife what the penalty was for during the slow-motion replay. I guess for Olympics gymnastics, that's asking too much...and I KNOW the rest of the country doesn't know what he's talking about either.

  1. NBC is c**p, end of

  2. I agree, both he and the woman doing commentary are very annoying. They had the nerve to scoff/laugh at athletes mistakes and hopes.

  3. load of bs

wasted 40 seconds of my life

who cares if hes a moron what can you do about it

  4. Tim is has done a great job. Its the other guy that doesn't know what he is talking about. Especially when he said a routine "would be remembered for generations?" Sorry don't think so.

  5. Gymnastics is very technical sport. It would be impossible for anyone to explain all the finer nuances. Plus, Dagget and Schlegel (sp) are former gymnasts. It's actually the "civilian" commentator who's supposed to make the commentary more user friendly. So, it's really the other guys fault.

  6. its not nbc....tim dagget was a gymnast years ago, i think 80's, but now the 3 that you hear commentating have been the only comenatators for that last like 10-12 years, i beleiev atleast since 96 olympics. i dont think its nbc who gives him the job i think its through the gymnastics association but not sure.

  7. i have no complaints. maybe he defined some terms earlier and you missed it. is he supposed to explain every little detail over and over?

    This:

"dismount" but doesn't bother to tell us why. Doesn't everyone on the pommel horse have to do a dismount?"

leads me to believe you are very anal and like to nitpick over the smallest details. you probably like to point out spelling and grammar mistakes
