Is NaCl polar or non polar? Why?

  2. polar i think becasue Cl withdraws the pair of electrons closer to itself. so makes that bubble image thing that shows the electron cloud.

    It's really Na+Cl-

    When the compound is formed, Na donates one 3s electron to Cl to fill out i'ts p valence level This leaves both atoms with stable complete valence shells. However, Na now has a charge of +1 and Cl has a charge of -1.  

  4. Non-polar because Na is positively charged and chlorine is negatively charged and they balance each other out. H20 is polar because there are 2 negative charges on the oxygen and only 1 positve charge on the hydrogen.
