Is it just sour grapes or does he have a case? are the Storm the NRL's schoolyard bullies, he prays the Dragons get another crack at them, well I reckon Bellamy and the Storm boys would be hoping the same, the red and white hold no fears for the Premiers

  1. Yes and no, Storm are dirty however fighting will not fix it, they should lose points. Even Ricky Stuart agrees that they are still using these outlawed tactics. Storm are not quality players they are cheats!

  2. I guess he is just as sick of them as the rest of the country & NO, he wasn't out of line.

  3. I am a dragons fan, so my opinion will definitely be biased (and I know ill get flamed for this), However, Brown has every right to criticise  the ref. Look at Melbourne's penalty count in previous matches. NRL ref's are scared of them as a team because of their influence. It's all a popularity contest. Always has been and always will be. Personally I reckon that the Dragons should "Bring Back the Biff" (to quote Reg). Hit em hard boys!

  4. No, he says what other coaches want to say, but can't because of the fines they may get.  I hope other teams have a crack at them.  melbourne can get away with anything as they are the nrl's darling team. If anyone else did what slater did they would have had 5 weeks. They will do anything to keep the team in vic.  Get rid of them and move the team to the NSW Central Coast where they are needed.

  5. Nathan Brown is right - and its great to see people who are prepared to say exactly what they think!

The Storm are always using dangerous tactics in tackles.  It would be a dangerous situation if every team started using choke holds, wrist locks and other arm/shoulder locks to slow their oponents down.

  6. Go Brownie...say what other coaches are thinking....Slater is a k**b anyway , and Bellamy is overrated.

  7. No he is not out of line the storm are the dirtiest team in nrl and yes they do get away with alot refs are blinded by thier stature its wrong dead wrong. Jason should have put one on his chin,Lima baitet him and got away with it

  8. I agree with you - it's out of line.

  9. good on nathan brown for speaking up...i dont blame him or his players for going off, if u watched the footy show last night it showed why, players were getting kicked in the scrum, a player got his hands stood on while trying to get up, choked, and arms twisted, this isnt football.

  10. Nathan Brown is a tool and should be told so.

It's just freaking sour grapes, everyone is getting their knickers in a knot over nothing, it's football for crying out loud not backgammon! Get over it, play the game and quit squabbling.

Oh yeah GO THE STORM! :)

  11. oh you big sooks! if anyone actually watches melbourne play you would see that they stretch the boundaries every game and get away with it, so if another coach says his boys will retaliate you cry foul! this is a big boys game - harden up!

  12. Go brownie. Dragons are the best and he has a point

  13. No he's not out of line!! I agree 120% with his comments. Melbourne have always pushed the boundaries with their tactics and never get held accountable. Now Bellamy will come out and say "everyone's picking on us" as usual. I've always admired Brownie's honesty as a coach, and the authorities should be paying careful attention to what he's said and not bury their collective heads under a rock as they usually do. Isn't it amazing how it's always the team lower down the ladder that gets the WRONG decisions off the ref. Do you think the refs have preconceptions??

  14. No, he's not out of line. The best way to slow a player down is by going for the neck and head in the tackle. Melbourne have this down to an art form. But the Storm are not on their own, they just do it better.

If the referees would only do their job properly, we would not have these complaints. Under Rule 15, s 1, part b covers attacking the head or neck of a player. The law does not say it has to be deliberate but do do so is punishable by penalty. Unfortunately, the only time head highs get picked up are for the odd swinging arm and elbows.

If the refs would follow the rule book we would not have the frustrations emanating from grapple tackles and other wrestling type moves. Enforcement does work. Tackles over the shoulder were outlawed some years ago in rugby without cries of ruining the game.

  15. yes he is!

  16. I reckon Nathan Brown needs to concentrate more on scoring tries and trying to beat the storm.  His team is useless, and needs to improve, both skills and fitness.  Btw not only did they lose the game, they lost the fight.   He needs to stop squealing like a girl. Go storm ............
