Is New Zealand a good place to move to when in the construction field?

yep, its a booming industry here.  I dont know anyone in the industry, builders, suppliers or managers, that dont have work coming out their ears.

If you have expertise in this area;it's well worth going online and looking at all the jobs available...I know they're short of engineers, electricians, plumbers, trained builders etc...I would just search the job in which you are looking for in NZ and go from there...Good Luck

As the other people have already said... the construction industry is booming here in NZ at the moment.  I'm not sure what aspect of construction you're into, but you could check out www.works4works.co.nz ...this is for a company called Works Infrastructure... as their name implies, they do a lot of infrastructure construction - e.g. roads, bridges, etc.   If you're more into construction management or design, you could check out www.beca.com.... they're a large engineering consultancy that does a lot of project management, quantity surveying etc.  Or if its building, plumbing, gib-stopping, electrician etc that you're into, there are a heap of jobs around - try www.seek.co.nz
