  1. Listen to Kyle.

Steve in NC probably has never set foot within 100 miles of Newark, he posts an article that's 9 years old.

The Ironbound section of Newark is a middle class Portuguese / Brazilian community with great restaurants not to far from NJPAC (NJ Performing Arts Center) and Prudential Arena (home to the NJ Devils Hockey team).

Cory Booker is the current Mayor, he is a Rhodes Scholar and Yale Law graduate, who is starting to turn the city around.

  2. im sure if you live a little outside of newark, youll be ok.

maybe just not in it...i live 45 or so minutes away and it is perfectly ok here :]

i havent been there too much at all but there is a major airport there and its very gray and smoggy and dirty there. not the most pleasant place to be.

  3. How about a non-ignorant answer! It's a city on the rebound and has been for awhile. Neighborhoods like Ironbound, south of downtown and Vailsburg, on the west side are pretty stable places to live. Jersey City (around Journal Square) is convenient to Newark with good transit options.

  4. If you're into getting shot and/or stabbed, then yes.

  5. Have you seen what happened to those guys in Newark in the movie Harold and Kumar Part 1 White Castle!!

    LOL, Dangerous Place!!!
