  1. Not the biggest but quite large

  2. It's a large city, but not overly congested which is nice.  If you visit Nice, you'll see how nice it is.  Lots of great restaurants, shops, and a nice view of the Med.  If you go in the winter, it's mild (not warm, but no snow in general).  I have heard that it can be hot in the summer and many of the hotels have no aircondtioning.  I thought that the ppl were reasonably friendly, definitely less frantic than in Paris.  Driving, however, is still hectic and the lanes are much narrower than in the states or in Canada.  A good vacation value IMHO.

  3. Hi from Nice !

Nice is the 5th most dwelled city in France. The current population is 347,000 inhabitants. The metropolitan area is about 950,000 inhabitants.

Regarding the area, Nice is quite big for France, bigger than Lyon or Bordeaux, it's more than 10 km (6 miles) from west to east. Paris is 86.92 sq.meters and Nice is 71.92 sq. meters.

  4. I can only reiterate what everybody else has said. Here's a list of the largest cities in the country to see how it ranks with the others: http://www.mongabay.com/igapo/France.htm

  5. Nice is the 5th most populated city in France. It's not really big, but it's quite an important city in France.
