  1. Not really.  He had his own unique brand of philosophy.  Because of the tendency to classify every philosopher, he's usually put there because it's the closest.  Nonetheless, he doesn't really fit in there.


  2. yes, the underlying reason is that he was part of a time and a place that was big on the idea that unlike Metaphysics(etc.) groups he believed in a world that was made from your own personal views.
