Is Nikon or Canon better with SLR cameras?

I prefer Canon but that is not to say it is better than Nikon choose either one that suits what you want to do.

They are both fine makes of cameras with an extended range of lenses

That's kinda like asking ford or chevy . It just depends on the person , though both are great if used right. Though when i went to the camera store i just went to the camera store and i picked up, fiddled around with both and i went with the canon because it was smaller then some of the nikons
