I've seen a couple of gameplay movies and it looks slightly repetitive, but is it worth buying?

  1. Here's the thing. It's not the open-world sandbox game people thought it was. It's closer to a dungeon-based action game. But it is pretty darn good.

Yes, it can get repetitive, but only if you let it get repetitive. It's possible to beat the game with basically the A button to attack, the Z button to lock on and block, and the D-Pad to dodge. But there are a half-dozen more advanced moves that unlike most games anymore are powerful enough to be worth using. Gameplay-wise, the entire game is focused around the 10 Ranked Assassin bossfights; the peons leading up to them are pretty much just a warm-up. The first two you can pretty easily just mash through, but after that, you have to be more patient and do some dodging and counterattacking to get past.

The story doesn't take itself seriously at all. The characters occasionally break the fourth wall (aka, acknowledge that they are in a video game). There's a load of old-school video game satire and nostalgia. It's largely a commentary on the video game industry as a whole today, and hilarious about doing so.

  2. It's really good and worth buying by a long shot

  3. it gets really repetitive. its the same thing over and over again. the graphics are terrible. i like the way they went with it but with the battle system and everything, it just doesn't look good at all. its supposed to be a go anywhere you want game like GTA but the buildings and town are basically card board. there is literraly nobody walking on streets, theres like 3 cars in the whole place. it just needed more money put into it, but that's what happens when your on a budget. and they make you do chores like mow lawns. the game is passible, it is an okay game, i would rent it, its worthy of being called a rental
