Is North America the only country that experiences Tornado's?

Ive never heard of tornado's being experienced anywhere but in the United States. Are they formed anywhere else in the world?

They are in many other countries.

We experienced one in Africa once (we were in South Africa).

They are in Asia, South America, Africa - everywhere, except Antarctica. I think the majority do occur in the United States, however.

We probably don't really hear about them because the destruction isn't as catastrophic as the quakes, hurricanes, etc. that we hear of hitting other countries (and we really only hear about those when they are really, really bad).

They form in other places too, they're not unique to the United States.

Firstly N. America is a continent, not a country.

Secondly Canada gets many Tornados as well.  Japan and China also experience tornadoes, so do India, Bangladesh and Russia.  Europe also experiences tornadoes and the United Kingdom has the most reported tornado events of any European nation.

Tornadoes regularly appear in every continent. Mainland Europe, the Chinese east coast, eastern Australia and southern Canada all experience regular tornadoes.  The reason that you only hear about them in the US is that the US media is obviously going to be more concerned about tornadoes in the US as distinct from in other countries.

tornadoes happen in a lot of other places, they are particuarly common in the pacific and indian oceans. in fact they are more common in bangladesh than anywhere else (have u ever heard of bangladesh sweetie? - i doubt it, look it up if u dont

you need to open your eyes love, the only reason why u only hear about them in america is because america can only think about its self and its own problems and doesnt care about the rest of the world that matters a lot more. and its people like you that is whats wrong with the world

to my knowledge tornadoes are a world wide phenomenon.and can and do occur everywhere but the frequency of occurrence in the usa or north america is much, much greater.
