Is OCD innate or acquired??

My roommate's OCD and I swear she gets it from her mother.

Both. More and more they are discovering that it can be related to certain types of autism.

apparently its aquired, ive been told its a control thing that comes from a bad childhood experience that you couldnt control as a child and is now manifesting itsself ac OCD, im not too sure though

It's pretty much an inherited condition - not always though, sometimes it can come from simply an abnormality in neurological development as a fetus, or while young. Point in case, though, an adult doesn't just one day "get" OCD. You're born with it or you're not. Obsessive behavior can manifest in people after traumatic experiences, but this isn't true OCD.
