Question:

Is Obama a Socialist? Has he described himself in that way without really saying the word?

I have never heard a presidential candidate talk about redistribution of wealth or being our brother's keeper. He just comes out and says to take from the rich to give to the poor. I have never in my 40 some years of voting heard a presidential candidate talk in those terms. Is that really what some people want?

  1. Dems and Reps will never allow for a socialist to run this country. Just because Obama is a righteous man, it doesn't make him a socialist.

  2. It's what Obama wants, and he's made his minions accept it under the disguise of liberalism.

  3. Obama did talk about redistribution of wealth.  In my opinion that makes him socialist and dangerous.

  4. sarah palin recently belonged to a party that wants to secede from the US.

Good luck with your US hating candidate.

  5. Are you saying do we want a progressive tax system and social welfare safety net?

    Yes

  6. No he is not a socialist; read a definition of socialists and then look at Senator Obama's policies.

There is a difference between cutting taxes for the lower and middle classes and letting the tax cuts for the wealthy expire. Just because Obama does not believe in making the wealthy richer because the money might trickle down does not make him a socialist.

  7. Well, if taking from the rich and giving to the poor makes someone a socialist, then you might want to note that as Governor, Sarah Palin imposed a windfall tax on the rich oil companies and then gave that income to Alaska residents in the form of a "special one time payment" of $1200 to Alaska residents to pay for the high cost of energy.

Actions speak louder than words:  Palin acts like your definition of a socialist.  Note that this $1200 is on top of the approximately $2000 Alaskans will get from the PFD (Permanent Fund Dividend) this year.

  8. No much worse, he's a Christean.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children."Ezekiel 25:17

    Am I my brother's keeper?

Cain's words have come to symbolize people's unwillingness to accept responsibility for the welfare of their fellows — their “brothers” in the extended sense of the term. The tradition of Judaism and Christianity is that people do have this responsibility. (See Good Samaritan, Love thy neighbor as thyself, and Love your enemies.)

Quoting the bible does not make someone socialist, Obama is not even close.

  9. Even if he used the word it would not sway the minions of the brainwashed.
