Except that the church wasn't racist.

Obama probably didn't think he was a bad father because he agreed with the ideology of the church and agreed with Rev. Wright.  Wright was his spiritual mentor until he had to disown him.

If Obama did not run for presidency, the issues with his church would have never been brought up and his family would have been attending church and listening and praising Rev. Wright every Sunday.

Could he have gone to other churches in the area? sure he could have so, he had choices... he made his and he choose poorly.
