BO is just posturing when he suggests a surge in Afghanasta.  26,000 of the 40,000 troops there are from US.  While campaigning in Europe, he didn't get a positive response to them increasing their troop counts.  Afghanastan is too dangerous for European troops.

Now we need a surge in Iraq to get out. We've been put to this. There are still contractors in Iraq that need protection. Well, Black Water is out of the picture cause they no longer offer security, they are just going to train from now on.

If we want out of Iraq we need to build whatever we're building, and in order to do that they need defense. Maybe we should have had this surge years ago, but nah, from failed planning by the Bush administration they didn't see it as a good idea, until the intelligence finally picked up... First d**n thing we should have gained before entering Iraq... Intelligence.
