Really, that is same old Washington.

If he was really about change, he would of gone outside the norm.

  1. Nor is rehashing FDR's policies "change".

I found Biden to be a curious choice.  I still hold that Kathleen Sebelius or Janet Napolitano would have been much better choices.

  2. "Change" is just a slogan that people catch on with real fast. It basically meant that change should NOT come in the form of Clinton.

He needed to make up for his lack of political experience. A 47 year old senator versus a 72 year old? The 72 year old can pick someone younger than him as his running mate, but the 47 year old Obama had to pick someone older.

  3. Yes, certainly

  4. When Biden gets to Scranton he will show how much he's been concerned about its depressed state for the last 36 years.  I like the way he yells his pitch like a cheer leader.  Maybe they should get him to do a split.

  5. the only change for obama is that he has thrown wright and his grandmother under the bus.

  6. Change is nothing more than his campaign promise. There is nothing behind it.

  7. Absolutely.  He's like every other politician who fills their campaign with empty promises and no real proof that he is prepared to back up those promises.

  8. No. Obama is the CONTRADICTION CANDIDATE.

Edit: JER - Biden has never been bipartisan. Look at his record. And for that matter, neither has Obama. Research will make your answers more accurate.

  9. Typical setup question.

    Affirming the consequent.

    Logical Fallacy.

Because he is fluent in Russian.

  10. Obama is about self promotion and nothing else.

The number 1 and number 3 most liberal senators in congress.

    McCain/Palin '08

  11. Because Biden is bipartisan and is in line with Obama ideologically.  You don't need to choose a hottie to be for change y'know.

To the person below me, YOU need to look at his record.  You will see that he is wildly popular in the senate amongst both parties, and his legislation has been bipartisan.

  12. Picking Biden is a brilliant choice.  Obama will set the policies but he will need a good VP to push legislation through the Congress.  Remember...the VP is President of the US Senate.  Can you imagine Sarah Palin trying to maneuver legislation through the US Senate?

  13. Yes, he is.  Listening to Biden is a change.  Biden has been around a long time, but mostly he went ignored.  Besides, the 'change' is Obama's vision for the country.  Biden has picked to counter Republicans' attacks that Obama is too inexperienced to be effective.  Obama will lead the change, and Biden will help implement the change.

  14. You got it.

I think McCain usurped "change" from Obama on VP.

  15. Yes is he is.

McCain is really not about change when he picks a woman out of convenience  and when he then tries to take the change mantra by saying his choice was change.

Palin is not the first  or last woman selected for VP.

I rather have a man like biden who is open minded and cares than a woman who feels she is judge jury and executioner.

  16. Tell me what "change" is.

  17. Yes, Obama certainly is about change.  GOOD change for a change.  And Biden knows what he's doing most  - definitely he does.  Sarah is a nice gal who is trying to do what she thinks is best for our state of Alaska.

She a smart and clever person, but she is not brilliant and is grossly ignorant of the world --provincial. She would need to be to do the job at all well. There are high school students that know more about the world than she does.

You who support McCain REALLY need to understand this - even if you don't want to.

    I'm sorry.

  18. You need someone who knows the inside game, but who is also frustrated with the current system, to help you bring about change.  They make a fantastic team!  With Obama's intelligence and Biden's foreign policy experience, plus both of their desires to make certain the middle class of America stays intact, you couldn't ask for a better ticket.

If McCain was such a "Maverick" he would of went with Ridge or Liberman...two people he really respects or trusts.  Instead, he took Rove and Limbaugh's pick, Sarah, to shore up the conservative base that was barely paying attention to him.  That is a total political ploy.  This should be amusing.

  19. Joe B is a good guy and you are out of line! McCain is stupid for picking a candidate that doesn't even know what a VP does.

  20. obama chose biden  because he lacks catholic votes and working class votes and Pennsylvania votes, and he chose biden for that reason, and that reason alone.

    politics as usual.

  21. Jimmy Carter talked a lot about changing government, but he had no idea how to bring about that change. He didn't rely on Walter Mondale to help. His administration suffered.

The theory is, Biden knows how to get things through Congress and is willing to help with Obama's agenda.

Sometimes it's good to know someone who knows where the switches are.

  22. obama is inherently in debt to the democratic machine; biden owes even more favors due to the ear marks he has approved over the years. they claim theyre all about change, but if they get the nod . . . it will be gridlock as usual

  23. It's rather ironic, isn't it?

Obama campaigns on "change" and tells us Washington is broken for months - then picks a long time Washington insider for his VP.

McCain picks a little known Washington outsider.

    Who is REALLY for change?

  24. He couldn't get anything of this "change" started or completed in Washington without someone who knows how the system works there.  It was a very wise choice.

  25. You're right, policy decisions are totally based on the novelty of the VP.  Obama totally should have picked someone with pageant experience.

  26. Obama is a fake and a crook.  He is also g*y, having had s*x with Larry Sinclair.

  27. 'Change" means nothing if you can't pass a bill. Senator Biden is supposed to be some kind of parliamentarian. The VP is the head of the Senate and sets and steers the legislative agenda. Obama's bill will be constructed properly and will pass quickly. Even hillary clinton has not been in the Senate long enough to understand and get around some of the strange rules of order that is the U S Senate.

  28. It is designed to reassure people that change doesn't mean too much change.  BTW, "politician" and "bureaucrat' are not synonymous.  Biden is a politician but definitely not a bureaucrat.

  29. he picked one of the best VPs cause hes been in there for so long. Obama now has a guy in the system so he can get passed wut he needs passed.

even if obama just plays golf all year he will of been a better president then bush. or his clone McCain.

and obama is talking to r enemys to prevent war. im afraid if McCain becoems president he will intervene in georiga were we hav nothing to say cuz thats exactly wut we did in iraQ

  30. Yes.  Change is the basis of his platform.  That's still very much in place.

  31. NO.

Obama is just Jimmy with a good tan.  More liberal Dem BS.  Nothing new.
