Is Obama really going to give 95% of Americans a tax cut?

Serious question - Obama is promising a $1000 tax cut for most American families. But he wants the Bush tax cuts to expire. When the Bush tax cuts expire, middle class families taxes will go up $1500. So is Obama offering a $2500 tax cut? Or is he just not telling us that actually our taxes will go up $500?

Yes, he really is, at least assuming that his plan passes through Congress.  You assume that he plans to allow all the Bush tax cuts to expire.  What he has actually said, over and over, is that he will allow the cuts for people making over $250,000 a year - which are most of the Bush cuts anyway - while keeping and extending the Bush tax cuts for middle class Americans.

First of all, he plans to increase government spending by creating more subsidies for alternative fuel sources (we all see how successful ethanol was....at raising food prices and not helping a damned thing), spend more government money on education (when several states are trying to privatize school because competition has proven itself to fix almost everything), create more social welfare programs (because obviously there are not enough programs to help people who don't even try to help themselves), subsidize health care (health care prices started going up when the government got involved in Social Security because hospitals and doctors knew they could con the government out of all the money they wanted), and somehow reduce our dependence on foreign oil somehow without drilling in the United States... all while cutting taxes.  

The problem with Obama's well thought out economic plan called "Change we can believe in" will not allow for tax cuts. In fact, if you vote for Obama as President of the United States, the only thing left you'll have left is change...in your wallet. If he does manage to cut taxes, imagine the deficit he'd build on America's credit card.

His plan is to give 95% of "working Americans" a tax cut which is not the same thing as raising your taxes. Why are you trying to put words into the man's mouth? That's the same thing McCain has been trying to lie about and it's just not true. What is your analysis based on when you say that when Bush tax cuts expire middle class families taxes will go up $1500? Or is that just the same thing some people are saying when they are just imagining things...

Relax ----he will give you tax cuts----tax refunds--- free health-care and  free education ---free lunch and milk money----and make everyone else except you pay for it. At least that's basically what he was saying.

no his tax proposal will being us close to 43% of our gross annual income that has been a well known fact is he changing his mind again ?. I don't know about you but I get taxed enough I do not want o vote for that.
