The Oklahoma State Legislature recently passed a resolution declaring sovereignty under the 10th Amendment, effectively giving notice to the federal government to back off and heed the Constitution.

  1. They should have a navy before they do stuff like that.

  2. Well, aside from "Deliverance", I'd have to say that that is pretty progressive.

  3. Good trend, although it is in a way reversing several of the better leaps made during the Industrial Revolution era and the New Deal era.

Haha, good post. This could be fodder for this year's presidential election, best way to change what you can't understand is to build it from the ground up.

Speaking of casinos though, Kansas is progressive.

The Kansas Supreme Court allowed state-run/owned casinos.

I am a Native American also, and there goes any economic leverage we had.

  4. Good for Oklahoma! More states should do it as well. I am sick of the NY, California, & Washington cultures using the federal courts/government dictating what should be States controlled issues.

The Feds should just stick to Foriegn trade/policy and the security of the country. Don't want / need them for anything else. They just s***w up everything they do anyway.

  5. No, Oklahoma is not the most progressive state. The "sovereignty" alluded to under the 10th Amendment, is in reference to the Native American Indian tribes in Oklahoma and treaties that were entered into with those tribes.

The State of Oklahoma, as the United States Federal Government, has always been remiss in honoring treaties with the Native American Indians who were forced to remove themselves to Indian Territory, now known as Oklahoma. The United States Government has never honored any treaty every signed by them.

Today, the Native American Indians in Oklahoma have one powerful hand in Oklahoma government--they own over 130 Indian casinos, contributing millions of dollars to the State of Oklahoma.

As a Native American Indian, I can tell you the State of Oklahoma cared little for our tribes until we became an economic boon to the state. Then, they wanted as much of our money as they could get!

  6. No
