I am moving to Orlando in August and have always wanted to pursue acting. Im not familiar with the area so im not sure where good legit classes are located.

I plan on taking some classes in the school im attending, but im looking to do a few student films, commercials, etc to fill in my resume so I can get an agent in the area. From there I would like to go on auditions etc.

Also, a good handful of mainstream films are filmed in Florida right? I want to book with an agent who can get my into auditions for things of that sort, and/or commercials.

I know I made it sound easy, but I do know how hard it will be. My question to you is 'Is Orlando a good place to begin acting?' Also, does anyone know legit classes I can attend? And what it would take to book with an agent in the area. Where can I get involved in student films?

basically, what should I need to expect?

  1. Yes, Orlando has a nice little theatre scene.

Central Florida has become a mainhaven for entertainment due to the plethora of theme parks and whatnot.

In fact, there's lots of opportunities with Disney and Universal.

But even if you don't want to go that route, there's other dinner theatres that you could audition for- especially if you have good improv skills.

Not sure where specifically to take classes but to answer your question... yes, i think its a good place. Its not overwhelming like L.A. or NY but it has enough opportunities to get your feet wet.

    Best of luck!
