  1. Both places are holes.  You want to raise  your family in Pine Hills if you can.

  2. Just keep in mind that Winter Park is basically Orlando as it is considered a suburb and is literally next door to Downtown Orlando. The school system is also the same as Orlando, Orange County Public Schools, however, the Winter Park area does in fact have better schools then some other parts of Orlando. The core of Winter Park is also considered an upscale area as it has large historic homes, Park Avenue shopping area, and the prestigous Rollins College, you may find that area pricey.

A nice neighborhood is Baldwin Park, its in Orlando but very close to Winter Park. Schools are also good in this area.

Stay away from Pine Hills and Parramore/West Orlando, those are high crime areas in Orlando.

Good luck with your home search.

  3. Definitely Winter Park. The main part of Orlando has a surprisingly high crime rate.

  4. Winter Park and seminole counties have much better school system than Orlando and orange counties.

Winter Park has a charming small town look to it with tree lined streets in residential areas.

Pine Hills is also known as crime hills.

No idea why other poster would joke around like that.

  5. What draws you away from Maryland?  I don't think the cost/quality of life ratio here is going to beat out Maryland, especially if you have roots there.  Orlando is high in crime and Winter Park is pricey and congested.  Employment in Fl is at a 13 year low.

  6. Winter Park is definetely a better choice.  It is beautiful there.  Orlando is too touristy and crime is higher.

If it is between the two hands down Winter park.
