  1. I dont think so. From what ive heard  its staying its name.

  2. All of the fossils and much of the taxonomy of the ornithischian dinosaurs was recently revised, and with it some groups were moved or renamed.

In the revisions, the only definite remains that could be categorically defined as belonging to the Othnielia rex were a femur and a few post-cranial fragments.  Some workers feel this isn't enough to support a species name, and thus that Othnielia is a dubious taxon.

These workers have renamed these (and some other) partial skeletons as the new genus Othnielosaurus, without nailing down a specific species name.

I'm not sure what the rationale is for creating a new genus name, instead of keeping the Othnielia name - which I have to agree sounds much better.  It sounds to me more like someone wanted to get their name on a taxonomic group, rather than a sound taxonomic revision.

  3. It gets rather complicated as various bits and pieces got referred to the genus.  Much of the material has been transferred to /Othnielosaurus/.  That didn't include a bit of front leg (a femur).
