  1. IT is generally considered that polyethylene terephthalate is soluble only in a restricted range of rather specialized organic liquids, such as o-chlorophenol, tetrachlorethane/phenol, etc.It is the purpose of this report to describe conditions under which this range may be extended.

  2. The usual laboratory solvent for PET is ortho-chlorophenol. Nasty-smelling and toxic.
