no. pacquiao is not afraid of edwin valero. valero's stats are vastly deceiving, due to the fact that, well, who has he beaten worthy of recognition? nobody. because he cant fight in the US. videos ive seen of valero shows he is much like pacquiao in his early days, too much over-agression and lacks defense. if pacquiao faces valero, pacquaio will surely beat him to a bloody pulp.

why wouldnt pacquiao fight valero? well, why would he? pacquaio has nothing more to prove and everything to lose. a fighter like edwin valero doesnt mean a big payday, and to be quite frank, valero tries to provoke pacquaio to a fight just so he can ride on manny's popularity. edwin valero may be known to boxing circles, but that's about it. manny pacquaio is known even to the common folk.

Why would he. Valero's record of K.O. on all of his opponents, isn't impressive at all if you'll get to know who his opponents were. Compared with Manny's record of beating every dreaded contemporary Mexican boxer, Valero is definitely not on Manny's league.

Valero is over-rated. His record doesn't speak much about his fighting capabilities.

Pacman isn't afraid of anybody. And frankly, i don't think Valero deserves to be in the same sentence as pacquiao yet. He's beat no one. I'm not saying he sucks.. but he's got a ways to go before he can step in the ring with pacman. I think Valero has great potential... and if he can get his license to fight in the states, then he might be able to reach that potential... but he has to beat some quality opponents before he can challenge the champ. In all honesty... if i were Valero...i'd be calling out pacquiao too... good way to get your name out there even though he's not ready to fight him..

valero is still relatively untested, and very easy to hit, so pac man would not have a problem with him at this time....but manny is at the stage in his career where he can pick and choose his opponents, an right now he plans on being the first flyweight champ to win the 135 pound crown.....so edwin will have to wait for now.
