sorry dandy, I don't mean to be a know-it-all, but even though Isreal doesn't recognise its own borders, the valid borders are those of 1972. Jerusalem is definitely part of Palestine.

  1. Ok you come in here to ISRAEL travel section to talk about Jerusalem and Palestine.

There is no such thing as palestine country that was a region it is now split between Israel and Jordan.

    Jerusalem is capital of Israel.

    Amman is capital of Jordan.

You want Jerusalem, so you have to go to ISRAEL.  If you don't want to go to Israel, then don't go. 'Cause if you go there to argue with people, no it won't be safe for you.

It is like you are saying you want to go to Sinai region, but don't acknowledge Egypt!  Wouldn't be safe for you in Egypt in that case either.

Now regarding this palestine region. there is a political movement since Israel won war of '67 to overtake Israel and unite it with Jordan.  That is a political movement, not a country.

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa. While as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan." -- PLO Executive Committee member Zuhayr Muhsin, March 31, 1977, interview with the Dutch newspaper Trouw."

So if you want to go meet with that Political movement in Gaza within palestine region, that is still not safe.  Only the places that are under FULL ISRAEL control are most safe. See, this is picture of people being safe in Israel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbiPjUnyf...

Israel is working on making west bank of Jordan river, Judea and Samaria region, Israel more safe.  You will have to check with tourism regarding which particular town within that region. Safety is varied by town with ones with most Jewish inhabitants being safest. It simply is just split between Fatah and Israel control so it varies from town to town.

The other place in Gaza they fight amongst themselves it is very unsafe.  They claim to own Israel but that is very untrue.  They also claim the entire world. They can't even go into Sinai, Egypt  because of those reasons too. So don't go there if you want to be safe. See, this is picture of people being really unsafe in Gaza:

Big difference.  Attitudes make the difference between being safe and unsafe.  I recommend to you to stay home and just watch Zohan.

  2. As everyone has said Jerusalem is part of Palestine. Its relatively safe unless you bring children. Hamas the child killing terror murder gang aims rockets at children daily. Daily they break the ceaseefire . Why? No intelligence at all!

  3. There has never been a country named Palestine. There was a region that was named 'Palestina' by the Romans; it was formerly Judea.

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and is definitely worth visiting. Whatever your politics, refusing to use the accurate and objectively correct names is the mark of a twit.

  4. There is no Palestine.

Jerusalem is part of Israel, part of it was in Jordan from 1947 to 1967, but it is Israeli again.

By the way, all archaeological diggings under the old city produce antiquities with Hebrew writings, no Arabic.

Most doorways in the old city have an indentation in the right external door post- were the Mezuza used to be.

So like it or not it is an Israeli city .

As for other places, go in good health.

  5. i have no idea where palestine is.

but as YOU posted this question in the israel travel section, yes jerusalem, the capital of israel,  is very safe to visit.

  6. I think Marion that you have to wait until December 2008.

After that It will be very safe to visit where ever you want in Palestine.

The great thing is that even the jews won't mind doing this.

    Do you like my answer?

    bye bye

  7. there's no palestine

israel has a huge tourist industry and tons of people go. there's always a risk- you never know when a suicide bomber might blow and kill ppl. you could go

  8. If you want to meet Palestinians look in Toronto and London.

  9. there is no such place as palestine, are you referring to the west bank/gaza?you are very confused, jerusalem is in israel (israel's capital) its very safe, the security is very good, lots to see and do you will have a great time .

edit..i did not say that you a know it all, i just said that you are very confused and here i am proving my point again (dont take it personally, thats why there is yahoo answers) you stated

"even though Isreal doesn't recognise its own borders, the valid borders are those of 1972. Jerusalem is definitely part of Palestine"., please explain .....

  10. Nope, there's a major war going on.

  11. Sorry, there is no such place as "palestine."  It is clear that you do not recognize Israel and therefore you will never have access to Jerusalem.  Theme's the breaks.

  14. Palestine is a nice place to visit! Jerusalem is very sacred to Muslims, Christians & Jews....no wonder why it is so beautiful! there are a lot of nice place that are "somewhat" safe.

  15. no.

if you're making up history and awarding jerusalem to a country that never existed, it would be much safer for you to stay away.

but since palestine is imaginary, you can feel free to take trips in your imagination.

take a side trip to atlantis or the astral plane while you're at it.

  16. if you are not Israeli, i believe it's quite safe. however, if you want to visit Jerusalem you have to be a tourist in Israel - do not expect any danger.

  17. you are very welcome :)

but Jerusalem is not in Palelstine, dont you know that?

israel is very safe place,  i dont know what do you watch in your TV but israel is very safe..
