Question:

Is Palin just another good example of GOP "do as I say, not as I do" politics?

Putting her total lack of experience and the reasons why McCain chose her aside, the list of reasons why Palin was a horrendous VP choice keep piling up....

A super-christian conservative crusader who is opposed to women's rights & abortion under any circumstances, we now know that a) her husband is a drunk with a wrap-sheet, b) her teenage daughter is pregnant at the age of 17 (with "the act" probably occuring when she was 16), and c) McCain conducted little-to-no actual background checks on her of any kind....

Can we all finally agree now that she was chosen solely to pander to stupid americans, and not at all based upon any form of "qualification". Moreover, how can evangelical super-right wing republicans get so fired up over a candidate whose actual life is completely un-aligned from what they/she claims to believe?

I'm beginning to think that "Christian-values voters" have the least moral fiber of anyone.

  1. She is a liability and reflects very badly on him.  His first major decision and it falls flat.  No matter how much spin he and his advisers try to put on it, it lands badly.

I didn't know about the alchi husband and the wrap sheet but she is also a gun toting mama, ( nice for the kids to be around guns!)

They used the little baby to cover the teen's pregnancy during the introductions, sad for them both.

She is under investigation for some nonsense about using her family to make phone calls to get her brother in law fired.    Corruption ?  I would say so. Now a lawyers on it.

She is using her older son and bragging about him going to Iraq.  I wonder if she forced him to enlist.  Maybe to get away from her.

She has a brash, annoying presence that people are already turning off to.  She has repeated her life's story so many times already it is starting to sound as boring as Mac's Vietnam saga.  Yawn.

There is already suggestive talk of her being replaced  and for the good of the party and the upcoming election, she should seriously consider it.  If I were a GOP member I would insist she go and put in someone of merit.  As an American, I would prefer someone besides her to be second in command should he win, which he won't.

  2. Opposed to women's rights - she's a governor, for crying out loud! Being against abortion is hardly the ONLY criteria for women's rights. Try to at least be honest here, will ya?

Husband has ONE DUI from about 20 years ago - Wow! Lock him up!

Teenage daughter who is pregnant - Not unique there either in this day and age.

Family values is NOT about having the perfect STEPFORD family. Who does? It's about how you deal with the life crises that come along to every family. If you can stay consistent to your values, then you can hold your head up high, because EVERYONE will face challenges in their lives.

Libs are all for saying that there are too many elitists in politics. Palin is as down-to-earth and one of us as they come.

Edit: The risk one takes when you take a stand of any kind is that the world isn't perfect... S**t happens. So when things don't go your way, people (like you) are quick to say, "Your beliefs MUST be wrong!" The EASY thing to do is not have any values or morals because then no one can hold them up to you. It takes strength of character to stick to your beliefs in an imperfect world.
