  1. Both are nice in their own respects and both have become congested with the tourist traffic.

Baga beach has been cleaned up recently due to a court order and you now have much more place on the beach.... a lot of beach beds, etc. were cleared away. It is also close to many places that you may want to go to e.g. Mapusa market, Arvalem waterfall, Panjim, flea market at Anjuna, Saturday night market at Arpora, etc.

Palolem is very scenic and a beautiful place to be. I remember it from the time when it was literally a virgin beach. A lot of people and tourists have descended upon it now. It has a lovely bay which is quite safe for swimming and no buzzing jet skis nearby. On the other had it is quite far away from all of the above mentioned places though the nearest town is at Margao which is maybe about 40+ kms away.

Anyway, choose whichever place you want to go to and enjoy yourself.....

  2. In my opinion Palolem beach is better to visit at any time of the year. It is more scenic (Palm trees line the beach) and from what I can remember more budget accommodation i.e beach huts and guest houses rather than large hotels.

However, it is more of a hippy, backpacker place and it depends what kind of scene you like.

    Hope this helps.

    Amy.

  3. Palolem beach which is located at the south of Goa is a gr8 beach, Baga or Calangute is too crowded and commercialized
