  1. I have heard that it has become very popular for American retirees to move to because it is so cheap to live. Retired people can take their meager income and struggle to make ends meet in the US, or live really good in Panama. You can find a place to rent for $200-$250 a month, and food is cheap, but gas and clothing are a little more expensive then in the US. But if you are not retiring and need to work, you have to get papers from Panama and I've heard it's not very easy to get, unless you marry a Panamanian. But everything the other person said is true - beautiful tropical weather, and everyone is very friendly. If I spoke Spanish I would move there now!

  2. yes, it is. I grew up in Panama and when I was 18, I moved to USA  because of family reasons. It is a great place for several reasons. For example, people are very friendly; everything is cheap; good weather( the average temperature is between 80 and 87 F something like that) and because of its geographical position we are not susceptible of hurricanes and it doesn't have to many earthquakes. In addition, you can find good schools for your children..if you are going to live in the city, you should enroll your children in a school called Colegio San Agustin which is the best school or one of the best of the country. it has beautiful landscapes and beaches. It is a good place to live... I miss so much Panama. I hope this will answer your question... :)
