Is Panera Bread a walk-in place?

This may sound stupid to some people... but I was wondering if Panera Bread was a walk-in place [such as Starbucks] where you just go get what you want and leave?

Absolutely, they have food to go, but it is also an eat in place that has terrific soup and killer sandwiches.  Try it, you will love it!

It's a walk in place similar to Starbuck's where you place an order and then they call you by your name and give you your sandwhich whatever. They also have booths and tables where customers can eat their food there. You can also buy baked goods.

It can be.  But it is mostly fast casual format (you order at the counter and usually they deliver it to your table).  They have good sandwiches and soups, some great salads.  Serve yourself coffee (usually a few flavors).  Meal size is a bit small for my liking but it is satisfying.

No. Panera is not a walk in place, not according to your description of the term. You walk up to the counter and you  place an order. Then you typically will choose a table. Their restaurants are large with many nice areas for booth, table, or armchair seating. You sit down. When your name is called, you get up, walk to the counter and get your food. Then you go back to your table and eat it.  So Panera, in essence is a sit-down place. However, they will pack your food to go, if you prefer to go that route.

Panera is great. Good food. And free wireless!!!!!!!!!!
