My friend is trying to sell me his Pearl export drum set with 4 toms, crash, hi hat, ride, snare, and all the stands. He also is throwing in his pearl eliminator belt drive double bass pedal (dont know if thats the accurate name). He is looking to sell for 500. I was in a hardcore band, but played bass and am looking to start learning drums. I didnt know if this set was really good for rock music or if it was more of a jazz kit. This would also be my first kit. I am not sure how old it is, but it looks like its in good condition. Also, are drums typically something you have to take lessons to get good at or can you become good at drums just by playing often? Thanks.

  1. yeah its a fine kit for hardcore, i know people who play jazz getschs in hardcore bands and it still sounds good. but personally im more of a dw drums man., you deffinately need drum lessons to get good. and tabs are deffinately a no no

  2. The only lessons you might need are just lessons on how to keep time and read the music, which you probably already know.

You can learn the rest by yourself.

  3. For $500 it's a good deal,

it'll be fine for hardcore music.

  4. Dude...you should definitely jump on that deal.
