  1. personally perkins is sometimes exspensive and u could get a fiew good tips but a few of my buddies say friendlys and olive garden give the best tips

  2. Why would you want to be a waitress? Waiting tables sucks really, really bad...you might make $100 or you might make $15..you never really know...

  3. Hi,

Since I'm here in Lisbon, I don't know anything about that, but let me remind you of something : a smile opens many doors.

Same as saying good tips :-)

    Good luck.

    Kind regards,

  4. It's pretty obvious "Jennifer G" tried waiting tables, and made $15 on a Friday night.

    Anyway...

Waiting tables can be a very fun and rewarding job---depending on where you're waiting tables.  I moved from New Jersey to Florida when I turned 18 and it's supported me quite well since.  I now bartend at the same establishment and have enough cash saved to venture off into my own contracting company, which I'll be leaving it for in a short number of weeks.  Sorry to hear your story wasn't as successful, Jennifer G.

How much you make in a shift will vary on how busy it is in YOUR area.  Perkins would be a great place to start, especially since a lot of bigger name restaurant don't like hiring someone with no serving experience.  Apply at a few better places and see if anyone bites.  If not, definitely try out Perkins.

When it comes to finding out a good place to apply, check out the Friday night "hot spots" .. Try to avoid fine dining or 5-star restaurant, as you have a .01% chance of being hired.

AVOID: Places for much older people as well as much younger people.  The less reputable restaurant = less money.  This goes for Denny's, Bob Evans, Waffle House, and sometimes Perkins.

  5. if you are really friendly and encourage customers to buy really expensive dishes, then ur tips will get bigger.  as far as a salary, i have no idea, but waitresses usually make a small amount of money, and they rely on tips.
