  1. Perth is anything but boring I'm afraid. If you are looking for a quiet and withdrawn existense then maybe reconsider your desire to move?

It has good and affordable public transport system, that can take you to good surf beaches or around the city and suburbs.

It has some of the best music and arts scene in Australia, and sees more big name live music acts than Adelaide does.

To help you settle in and meet new people, I recommend the OBH at Cottesloe for a Sunday session (google it) or Saturday morning in the Perth city mall, or Saturday arvo at the Bees Knees in Northbridge for a cold beer. If you're a skeg, try Leederville for the best skate park and Graffiti art.

For live music try the WA gig guides online.

  2. simple answer no!

many people associate Perth as being boring, dull and  isolated we get it all, only because its further away from Melbourne (which think they are the world) and you dont have to travel for hours out of the city to get peace and quite. i have lived here my whole life and have never had a problem.  there is lots to see and do, northern suburbs for beaches and fremantle for shopping and culture. remember to bring lots of sunscreen and mosquito repellent! good luck!!

BTW where are you moving from?
