  1. Just like Rachelle I'll give you a short answer,no they are not related. You will find Rachelle does this a lot, writes a novel when she answers, and it usually has nothing to do with the question.

  2. No,there is no relationship between the Who singer and Group Captain Peter Townsend, an RAF war hero who was King George VI's extra Air Equerry,at the time of his first meeting with the then 14 year old Princess Margaret. He was married at the time and later divorced Rosemary Pawle;the cause of the rift was the continued separations caused by Townsend's RAF duties during World War II. Townsend and Pawle had a brief war-time romance and wed during a short leave;they had two sons. After the War,Townsend still had to take frequent trips because of his job with the Royal Family;he was given the very demanding job of Deputy Master of the Royal Household. It was this job that also threw him in close proximity with Princess Margaret. It was his wife who embarked on an affair with wealthy merchant banker, Johnny de Laszio, that caused the final rift.Margaret, who had been harboring a crush in Townsend, took the chance and started spending time with him. Then, her father died;Margaret was crushed. She adored her father and looked to Townsend to fill the void.

The rest of the story is history;Margaret had no choice but to put Royal Duty ahead of love.It has been mentioned that she may have been a much happier person and never have gotten divorced if she had been allowed to marry Townsend...but the fiasco of the Edward VIII abdication crisis was still too raw.

You can find out more about Peter Townsend at Wikipedia:

You can find out more about the Who at the same source! But the Who's Peter Townsend  has no relationship with Margaret's Peter. Perhaps you could post any questions about the Who's Peter Townsend in the entertainment and music sections;this is after all THE ROYALTY section, where people who do know about Royalty get to share what they know! So,music buffs are probably abundant in another section!

  3. Group Captain Peter Wooldridge Townsend (November 22, 1914 – June 19, 1995) was Equerry to King George VI 1944–1952 and held the same position for Queen Elizabeth II 1952–1953.

Group Captain Townsend is best known for his ill-fated romance with Princess Margaret. Despite his distinguished career, as a divorced man, there was no chance of marriage with the princess, and their relationship caused enormous controversy in the early 1950s. He later married a Belgian woman, Marie-Luce Jamagne.

A Jersey accountant who claims he may be the illegitimate son of Queen Elizabeth II's late sister, Princess Margaret, won the right to continue his legal challenge to see her will.

Robert Brown age 52, believes he could be the love child of Margaret who died in 2002 aged 71, and British Royal Air Force pilot Peter Townsend, with whom she had an ill-fated love affair.

Wills of senior members of the royal family have been officially sealed since 1911 and not open to public inspection.

Margaret left 7.6 million pounds (15.5 million dollars) to her family and Brown believes he may have been a beneficiary. Brown, ho was born in Nairobi, Kenya on January 5, 1955, also wants to see the will of Margaret's mother, the late Queen Elizabeth.
