  1. Neither is too good.  But PetSmart is better than Petland (awful).  Petco would be better than both, but go to PetSmart if you must. :D

  2. None of them. Adopt: www.petfinder.com

  3. i agree all large pet stores are not a good place to buy animals, but i would say petland is the better of the three. i went to 2 petland meetings and all the talk about is discipline. i currently have a application to a petland that is opening in my town and if its as bad as petsmart i will let everyone know.

  4. Anything is better than Petsmart. Well, maybe not Petco.

  5. yes yes yes! pet smart is almost known for not taking care of their animals. i say dont take the chance!

    here a link about it:

    warning its a sad article

  6. wouldnt say so... i think there all the same besides the prices... other wise there the same

  7. yes but dot buy them at Petco

  8. All pet stores are pretty bad. Chain pet stores, whether it's PetSmart, PetCo, or PetLand, get their animals from mills. In these mills, animals are bred in mass quantities purely for profit.  Health and temperament are not a concern. Although pet store animals can be perfectly happy and healthy, it's still not the best idea to support them.

I would recommend you visit both and choose the store that has the healthiest looking hamsters. Also, be sure to have an employee handle them to see how they tolerate it.

If you can try looking into a shelter/rescue that has hamsters available. It's hard to find breeders, but if you find a responsible one, that's a good way to go too.

  9. petland has puppy mills! go to petco or petsmart
