my family and i lived there for 12 years and most of my relatives are from there

One of the best things about the Philippines is how cheap it is... you can stay in a 5*hotel for a very small amount of money.

The second thing that is great is the cuisine. You enjoy fantastic seafood, rice and pork dishes over there.  If you venture away from Manila and the more populated/touristy areas you will find beautiful countryside, secluded beaches and mountains.

Cons include very oppresive humid weather (if you are not used to it) . It is a politically corrupt country so be careful and dont travel alone.

Oh yeah, Philippines .. it's the place to be! The lovely scenery, excellent beaches, great finds, cheap buys, friendly people, biggest malls, interesting culture, beautiful women. what more can you ask for?
