  1. I have a Philips flat screen t.v and it's really good quality. My friend has a Sony and the Philips is better by miles. The picture is much clearer and sharper and the colours are more vibrant. Wouldn't change it for any other brand : )

P.S-Don't listen to 'B4 operation chaos there was me'. I've had my t.v for ages and haven't had any problems with it. It's not the worst possible brand. They haven't even spelt Philips correctly-it's one 'l' not two.

  2. Phillips is the worst possible choice on the market (in easily recognized names that is)  They just sold the TV division to Funai effective Sept 1st?  Thier technical service department is lacking----  Thier panels have multiple problems and getting parts that fix them the first time is like pulling teeth.

    Sony, Samsung, Toshiba and JVC

    Lcds ONLY-----no plasmas

  3. I've found that it doesn't matter what the brand is just focus on if its 1080 or not! 1080 has the best picture!

  4. I find Toshiba to be excellent.

  5. PANASONIC

  6. i have a sony, it was good at first, but now the colours gone weird like its slightly out of line :S

may i suggest you get an LCD rather than a plasma? - plasma tv's can bleach in direct sunlight, or if you leave a bright image paused on the screen, most of the time it's not a major thing, but i have seen some cases where theres big beige spots :S

  7. Philips is a good brand for flat panel TV's. Their LCD panels are made by a joint venture with LG. Sony is also a good brand but they tend to have poor contrast ratio and are extremely overpriced (because of the name). Some of the best brands in the market for LCD tv's are (in no order): Philips, Sharp, Samsung, LG, Sony. You should research all of those names. From my personal preference, I recommend Sharp or Samsung. Sharp pioneered Liquid Crystal and have one of the most advanced integrated manufacturing plants in the world. Samsung also make good panels. I prefer the clarity and quality of a Sharp AQUOS. I don't have any flat panel tv's but I am planning in buying one and I am going to stick to a Sharp AQUOS but of course that is my personal preference. Sony Bravia tv's are excellent but alot of customers tend to have problems at a short time of ownership. Now back to Philips, Philips also make good quality panels. Check out their sites.

    Sharp:

    Samsung:

Check them out and make sure you do plenty of research. Don't go by the name because everybody will say Sony is the best which is not always true. Go by specifications and quality but don't just go for any flat panel tv.
