Question:

Is Physics a tough class?

My counselor said I either have to take art for four years or take physics for two years. I really hate art, and I'm not going to do it for that long. I don't like math all that much either so do you think I could pass Physics?

  1. ill make it short and simple

    * you dont need to be great at maths to do physics... maths is all logic.. phy u have to think unlike in maths....

    * phy is much more fun as u get to do cool expts

    * my maths is pathetic and i am one of the best physics person in my class

    *art blows,... big time

  2. It's not tough, just alot of algebraic work.  It can be vary tedious, but not hard.  Although, most professors find ways to make the course hard.

  3. The difficulty really depends on the teacher, but physics is a really applied form of mathematics.  It requires logic and reasoning at a level well beyond high school biology and chemistry.  If you find math to be very difficult, it's likely you will struggle with physics.  If your classes are anything like mine were, taking physics would be significantly more work than any art classes, but it can be a worthwhile pursuit if you are willing to put in the work for what might be a difficult class for you.

  4. You will succeed in physics as long as you use the necessary amount of time to study. I don't know what kinds of physics classes you will be taking or in what grade, but no matter what you have to study. Do all of your homework and seek help when you need it. Do not have people do your homework for you though. The only way to make it through any class is to do the work yourself.

Good luck in all of your physics classes!

  5. Yes, physics is quite tough. The concepts are sometimes difficult to grasp, but if you put enough effort into it, you'll do decent. You may even find out that you're one of the few who grasps the concept faster than the rest. I suggest getting a tutor to help you for both years. If you don't want to do that, try buying some books to guide you. The books that help for the AP exam are often the best in covering the widest variety of topics. I'd suggest the REA brand or the Princeton Review.

You just have a to remain focused. I think 2 years of physics would be easier than 4 years of art since you dislike that subject. Yes, you do need to understand some math to work the first few units. But, you just need to know how to plug numbers into formulas, so it's quite simple. As you progress onwards, the units involve less and less math, so don't let that part worry you. Even though physics can be hard, it's also quite interesting and it should keep you focused and not bored. It just depends on who teaches you and how enthusiastic he/she is about the subject.

    Good luck!
