  1. Physiology is the study of how cells work, how they cooperate in organ systems such as the heart and brain and how these organ systems function together in the whole body. Some physiologists study animals, some study man. Because knowing how the body works is essential for understanding why it goes wrong, physiology is the scientific basis of human and animal medicine.

  2. Keep in mind that medical studies ARE scientific, or at least, they should be.

Physiology is the study of how your body works, both at the molecular level, and at a larger scale as well.  This is Science, but it is obviously essential to any sort of Medicine.

  3. It's the study of the mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions of living organisms.

If you study human physiology then it is both medical and scientific, since medicine is science.

But it you study animal, or plant, physiology then it is just science.

  4. The biological study of the functions of living organisms and their parts.

Could be plant physiology - clearly in this case not medical but scientific.

Human physiology is the science of the mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions of humans in good health, their organs, and the cells of which they are composed and often research in these areas goes hand in hand with clinical studies.Medicine is concerned more with dealing in abnormal physiology.
